Cross breeding programmes in North and South America as well as Africa and Asia show that using German Simmental cattle does not only improve the rate of gain with a better utilization of the fodder but also the amount of milk produced is increasing in beef cattle such as Aberdeen Angus, Hereford or Zebu. Cross breeding products are worldwide known such as Simbrah (German Simmental x Brahaman) or Simbrasil (German Simmental x Nelore) to name but two.
At present there are aproximately 45 million heads of Simmental cattle in the world.
